School Elections School elections are conducted by the chief electoral officer of Yukon under the Education Act.


School General Elections - Monday, October 4, 2010

The general election of school councils and the Yukon Francophone School Board will take place this year.

Nomination papers will be available at the Elections Office and from school offices starting Monday, September 13, 2010. Nomination papers must be filed with the returning officer for the school before noon on nomination day.

Nomination Day is Thursday, September 23, 2010

Polling Day is Monday, October 4, 2010

An elector must be on polling day:

An elector voting for trustees of the Yukon Francophone School Board and a candidate must also have French first-language rights under section 23 of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms.

Five trustees will be elected to the Yukon Francophone School Board.

An elector voting for members of school councils for Christ the King Elementary, Holy Family and Vanier Catholic Secondary Schools must also be recognized by the Catholic Episcopal Corporation.

The number of members to be elected for each school council is:
